Who Am I?

Who am I? I am Jawan Xavier Davila-Love, another product of  a lower-middle class area in Cleveland, Ohio. Built to fail but destined to succeed in life. Who am I? A young adult trying to build an empire in my city through my music. You can blame Hip-Hop legend, Jay-Z for planting this vision in my head. His successful career as a musician/entrepreneur without a Bachelors Degree let alone a High School diploma has inspired me in so many ways.  My whole life I've had a dream of changing lives through my music. It all started when I was a little boy playing usher songs on my little Wal-Mart keyboard. Throughout the years I taught myself how to produce, how to write songs, and then eventually I began to rap. The reason I fell in love with Hip-Hop is because a lot of times this genre can carry a negative meaning from other peoples perspectives, but the kind of Hip-Hop I'm making carries a very positive vibe. I love being challenged to change others views on certain subjects. Who I am changed once I was granted a scholarship to The Ohio State University. I really began to feel like I can show kids in my neighborhood that there is a way out and that nothing is impossible. After all coming from where I was born and raised kids don't really have much to look forward to and it is very easy to get caught up in lifestyle that leads to bad results. To be honest I could have fell to those unhealthy lifestyles plenty of times, but I outlasted it. I guess you can say I have a passion for trying to make a difference in my community. Who am I? A loving, outgoing gentleman who just loves to enjoy life. Besides my love for music I like hanging out with my family and friends and going on new adventures. My craziest, most amazing memories have been with my best friends. It's amazing how much stress your loved can take off of your shoulders. That means a lot to me because honestly I have a lot of moments where I take little situations and make them feel it's the end of the world. So who am I? I'm just another guy in society trying to make something out of nothing, but of course this isn't possible without my loved ones there to help support me throughout my journey.
